The kit is designed for the direct detection of adherence and virulence genes of Escherichia coli from bacterial lysates. The test enables multiplex real-time PCR detection of virulence markers of enterotoxigenic (F4, F5, F6, F18, F41, Sta, Stb, EAST1, LT) and shiga-toxigenic (Stx1, Stx2, Stx2e, eaeA) strains of E. coli and the adhesive virulence factor AIDA1. The diagnostic kit contains an internal control for the presence of E. coli in the lysate.
The kit is validated on Bio-Rad CFX Opus Real-Time PCR System and is compatible with all commercially available real-time PCR analyzers that allow excitation and reading of FAM, HEX, ROX, Cy5 and Cy5.5 fluorescent dye emission.
